So what is it that World Cup 2007 will be remembered for? The highest World Cup total, (India against Bermuda), the early exit of sub-continental giants (India and Pakistan) or the murder of the Pakistani coach Bob Woolmer under suspicious... Read The Article

Govt. should step in and revamp BCCI. 1) Publish the balance sheet of BCCI 2) Cut down the perks and allowance for board members and put a cap on the spending of BCCI money for board members 3) Selection of team members should not be based on Zone 4) Control the number of days a player can work on ads and commercials.

ACCEPT THE TRUTH--first and foremost we INDIANS as a race are not meant to be physically strong to compete with beef eating REST OF THE WORLD.Every sport need raw power----hav we produced one fast bowler who can bowl 135 + for three seasons
second truth our BOARD with business brain is interested in making more money and more money that is why our politicians are interestd in cricket--take the money out the lalus and pawars will run away--the boards top priority is not CRICKET
THIRD look around you how many proper grounds leave alone pitches are there in INDIA even the rich schools have a ground which is used for cricket hockey football and republic day parade!when people question can we not produce a better team from this billion they forget that hardly a lakh actually play rest watch in TV or by arranging passses

It is really a shame that in spite of being the most talented team in paper,it is becoming more and more tough to win even a single match against a quality opposition in practice....... There has always been talk of too much empasis on ads by players , but this comes into picture only when the team performs badly...The introspection that is taken after a bad performance is not proper.....First main thing is that the pitches in India should be improved and that does'nt happen and that is when the question of approrpriation of funds by the board comes into mind, and more importantly india has always been a much hyped cricket nation...........a tiger which can roar only at home and always at home only

I am an indian lives in Melbourne. i was so sad when india was not to reach the Super8 stage in Worldcup.and i feel angry about sachin's outburst against greg. First i also got angry when i head the chappels word. Sahin done Lot of thing to Indian cricket...... Then i slowly started realising.Istarted thinking what sachin is given to indian cricket. I feel that He is not given any thing to indian cricket. He is done everything to himself. Somebody might say that sachin played and hit 100 runs even after his father died fewdays back. That is his job/duty. He is getting paid huge amount for each match. If he hit a centuary he is getting more adds. After his recent outburst I storgly feel that is sachin is playing for himself not for India. He played enough cricket and i sulute him for his achivement. if he really want to give something to his nation what he want to do is groom new players. Or else he enjoy life after cricket. In this time i remember a sportsperson who is not lost in glittering of money, His name is P GOPICHAND all england batmindon champion who refused pepsi's multi crore offer for endorsement. EVEN Sachin is not playing or anyone is not playing that does not matter SHOW MUST GO ON. AND IT WILL.

i think that we are all missing the point, india played woefully and i think that now everryone is using greg chappell as scape goat.yes greg had his flows i watch cnn ibn and i am shocked to see people defend players, they are the ones who are to blame mostly for this.if bcci does not punish any player this time around even if you get the local coach you want it is for nothing and india will not win anything forever.the player are clever and they are now defending their interests by attackin greg.ALL THIS IS PITIFUL AND ITS THE SUPPORTERS WHOSUFFER BECAUSE INDIA WILL NEVER WIN THE WORLD CUP

India can never WIN another World Cup in next 100 years. The fate will be same as hockey. I don't feel pity for any of our players or officials. They are there just to make money. Can anyone change my belief.

I do agree with you. But I would suggest BCCI Board and Players that forget whatever happened now focus and prepare yourself for to win atleast from Barbados or Canada or Ireland or Bangladesh or any other New Team.

Vision 2011
I believe we need not sack anybody, the huge embarassing defeat is a good lesson learnt.
I suggest we move everyone senior - Dravid, Ganguly,Tendulkar, Kumble,... into the Test Eleven. Seniors may not like it because of the loss of endorsements, but they should consider themselves lucky enough not to have been sacked completely.
Move the youngsters led by either Yuvaraj or Sehwag into the One-day Eleven. Give them at least 3 years to play and grow in confidence. This way will give a good time for youngsters to prove themselves. I have no hope that we will lift the World Cup in 2011; but we will definitely put up a better show.

Unless India can win a series in Australia and South Africa , they would never be able to win the WORLD CUP. Australia and South Africa have beaten everyone on their home grounds and they deserve to win. How can India even dream of winning the World Cup without proving themselves abroad. Remember Australia won the Test Series and also the Champions Trophy in India. India can only dream of such an achievement abroad. Bring in younger players, since we are anyways losing matches with our experienced senior players. Atleast the younger players should be allowed to prove themselves and given time to develop their mental strength and perform internationally, not just in India.
