I feel extremely disheartened after reading this article by Behar and after seeing the videos. I belong to Allahabad considered sacred since centuries for its banks and for the confluence of this great river with yamuna.. I have seen this river rotting in front of my own eyes and i feel helpless. Is there anything we could do to save the Ganga and its beauty?

We Indians are really hurt by the conditions exposed to present day life. The divine Ganga is drying up.In the name of improvement, one narrow guage train running to various important stations, from Anantapur has reduced it distance in the name of broadening the track. This train had been very useful to the commuters who travel daily from this district head quarter city of Rayalaseema. No one are aware about the time it is going to take so that a common man can again go by this train.I think in course of time,it is found that we have become helpless. In case of Ganga it has to be saved. There are solutions we have find out.

Bahar,
Nice work. It’s about time someone takes up this matter and you did a good job. River pollution is a huge problem in India and every time we read any article about river pollution, we get angry towards government for doing nothing. It’s just not govt. but has to be the duty of every citizen. To start, co-ordination has to be established between citizen and govt. for educating people and forming of local committees for long continuous efforts for cleaning of rivers. Govt. can regulates law and spend money on cleaning, but it’s hard to police every factory owner and or citizen. Unless people are educated and concern about polluting drinking water, spending millions in money is worthless.

If one really wants to see the ugly condition of Ganga then come to West Bengal.Colour of river has changed from blue to mud Brown, it has become a common place of throwing garbages, deadbodies and a very common toilet for street dwellers. I dont know what actually our ministers are doing they are so much engrossed in unimportant issues that they dont have the time to look after their holy mother Really shame on such sons

We should also through all ministers into it.They are also sort of dead weight to indian society then Ganga may turn green ;-)
