Madhukar	Bhupen.. it's good article.. I believe it is not to do anything with TV advertising. It is all about the Beauty of Soccer. I donot think it as decline of interest in Cricket, but certainly emergance of aleternative sport Soccar. hi bhupend.. It is the beauty of the game which brings people in front of the TV , not by the exaggeration of TV. TV Channels have all to do is to promote the game to every indian and make this game popular at all times. (not just on the time of world cup or euro cup). Take your efforts to force the people to play this game, force the govt. to prepare grounds on schools. If we start from schools from now onwards, atleast we would be eligible for world cup in 2014. Shafi	I won't agree on this point. (However New age consumerism is pushing up other things and I will agree with you on that) New-age consumerism alone can't make it happen to this level. ESPN tried to create big Euphoria about Hockey League matches and is not that successful to get the audience hooked on to the channel. So Football as the game has something in it which brings in audience like you and me to get hooked on and watch at Mid-night. My perception: News channels are trying to join and cash-in on the big event like FIFA rather than saying people are watching FIFA due to News channel. ( Posted: Thursday , June 22, 2006 at 17:20 )
