Dada is no more a dada

What's the most enduring image of Sourav Gangluy? Him standing at the Lords balcony, waiving his shirt before millions of TV viewers all across the world or him standing at short mid wicket chewing his nails, or him...

Ashok Dhingra No doubt Saurav have done quite a few wonders now he should exit from the international team with honour and be not interested until they request him to come only in case new persons do not perform.

santosh Ganguly should blame himself for this kind of treatment. He was not performing for the past couple of years but India were winning but when india started loosing he is a burden on team. He should retire now from the game. He should have done it a couple of months back itself. He was a good leader but not now.

Ashok With due respect to Saurav's remarkable contribution to Indian cricket, I am yet to figure out what went wrong with Saurav, why he once a hero lost his confidence. Out of form performance could be a temporary phase and many outstanding players have regained their perforamnce after they lost it for a while. Same way, Saurav could have come back to his original form using his vast experience and expertise. Other things which pains me is that how he lost rapport with his co-players , he seems to have lost it also. Somewhere, it has affected his performance. Its time for him for retrospection and proceed further with what his conscious says. Once again salute him for his remarkable contribution to Indian cricket.

Madhav it is a shame that the cricketer who made Indian cricket what it is today is being metted with such a shoddy treatement... and the person responsible is the same person who was accused of asking for bribe for selection some time back....
Bad Luck Sourav... We know and we care...

Harinat It's a disgrace, that we are not able to give a proper graceful exit to the most successful captain.

Durjay Kumar Dear Sir
A lot has been said about merits and demerits on the selection of Indian team and its mangement but no one can deny that our selectors have been regional bios.

Its to Ganguly's credit he created a team out of diversity.

He was the first to give support to youngsters,
and is due to this factor what we see the likes of Yuvraj,Sehwag,Kaif, etc.

Likes of More and company needs to learn how to treat a person of Ganguly caliber.

shrey thank you Roy for writing this comment... at least now people will know how many ganguly-bashers are actually saying stuff which has logic and how MANY are just biased against him because he's a bangaleeee...:)

sudhir Ruling out the most sucessful captain was disgraceful. This may also send negative signal to other senior players. I do not think Kiran more is any where near DADA to comment on his perfrmance. More was a very ordiany player whereas Sourav has been one of best left hand player .When people like Gavaskar, vengserker feels that the treatment given to DADA is not good its not good. For that matter we should rate Gavasker above even Chappel. A desent treatment to DADA has to be given. He for me alwaus remains not out.

dravid rocks ganguly has been fantastic at times when he was aggressive as captain and batsman. but even the most ardent ganguly fan cannot but accept that his lack of form in his batting has transcended to an unseen cautious approach to captaincy, thereby belieing the very punch in his captaincy. now data for this, remember the 4th test in australia, agarkar 6 wkts. last day of the test, india great chance to press home advantage, once in a lifetime opportunity to win a series in AUS. what does dada do? .... defensive field...makes sure we don't lose the series.

my two cents.

Drongo We Indians are miserable sentimentalists. Souravs time has come and gone. We know for sure fishy things have taken place behind the closed doors of the team dressing room but the uninspiring lad just happened to be at the right place at the right time and has done well for India. His time is over. He has been given enough opportunity. Let go of him folks, let go of him.

Team India is on a rampage. We should be rejoicing.... but does anyone care??
