Just Great.
For the first time I read an article where somebody has talked about application of modern management theory into Politics.
When I had taken my first lesson of management in my MBA, I was wondering how our politician are running the country without applying any management theory. But that is the specialty of Politics over corporate world. For instance, Anil/Mukesh Ambaniin joins Reliance after completing their MBA. But in politics successor just follow the success principle applied by their predecessor.
That's why politician, just follow the principle set by leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandi etc for doing their politics. In my opinion, this is the most appropriate method to spread management theory among leaders at grass root level.
But these principle need to be improved by adapting to the new reality of today's world. And some of example which you have quoted in your article are definitely in that direction.
Hope we will get many more article like this in future. Good wishes and happy new year.

Well written article. I really really hope Chandrababu Naidu reads this article and make some good out of it. In my recent visit to Andhra I felt TDP was more resembling like the PSU described which is a bit paradox when you take Mr. Naidu's image as a CEO (yes former!!) of AP.

A very good assessment - with constructive ideas - how to win - also how to retain what is won. It applies to all the parties.

DearV.T., Rightly said. Congress has more leaders than workers nowadays and they belive that Madam Sonia's charisma and RahulBABA's persona is enough to win. Apart from ideology , What lacked in Guj.Cong. leadership was ,none of them have created a good image,Gujarat being a business savy state people understands the difference and can not be fooled . The realy tragedy for cong. is that while they were trying to win the election on the back of you (Media),Sonia and BJP dissidents ,they forgot to take care of their own rotten lot.

Nice points by author. Until congress depends on the dynesty, they never going to get the feedback from the grass root level. To get the correct feedback about the reality, you need to listen the truth and able to digest the truth. In the present congress scenario "Sonia/Rahul can do no wrong" is going to prove fatal for the congress. If someone project truth, they kicked out if that is against them. It is not good sign for the congress and democractic India.

The writer rightly describled Congress as Sick PSU. The irony is that a person like Modi who supervised killing of thousands of innocent people became CM again by poisoing the society. This is the dangerous trend and we peace loving people do not seem to be fighting it effectively. There is always remorse in a civilised ociety for any wrong doing and that is increasingly missing in our society in general and Gujrat in particular. Thank you.

Fantastic analysis! Accountability is the key factor and slowly certain political parties are warming up to this unheralded word. Though, this may just be a one off case! But, it is pleasing to see that the anti-incumbency is a non issue..So, someone must have done something right at some point of time.

Finally a blog that does justice to the Gujarat results, unlike others that only relied on how Modi won through divisive politics, harping on his development deals etc etc.. worth a read!
