This past week, the thinking and the chattering classes got neatly split into two. Is Modi the face of a new India, or has his victory pushed us back into the divisive abyss of hate politics? Reams have been written... Read The Article
Indeed your writing is good but again if you review the political wheel in sub continent and particularly india which is the largest democarcy, tell me is our country really democratic and looking into larger interests of the population, or is it catering to the likes and dislikes of section of the people, the election in our country is farce as we find the same wooden faces all the time, about 1000 families are rotating the seat of power, you can very well go on the chronolgically or whatever order and find out yourself, the dynastic rule is not only in the centre but all states have the same approach, take any party, congress was cursed and abused but what about BJP or Janata dal, mr. gowda and sons in karnataka has taken the state for his personal property, so what democracy are we talking about, you cannot deny the communal factor in Gujrat whatever your arguments are based upon. Mr. Vinay, its well written and thought provoking article. Congrats to your unbiased analysis (I am amused that it came from a channel which targets Modi unnecessarily). You are right that one needs do ground work and have connection with ground level workers to win in election. Modi has these qualities, also he developed Gujarat. One needs to accept his victory. Everybody knows why the charismatic leader Chandrababu lost 2004 elections, he lost connection with ground level workers The congress needs to improve accountability and responsibility in party if they want to win their next elections. Of course, instead of depending on Gandhi family they should accept other leaders also

Excellent Article by Mr. V. Tiwari. Unlike others, I am sure Mr. Tiwari must have visited Gujarat at least once. If rule/reign under Mr. Modi is bad as some suggested, why people from Indian States ruled by Congress Party (and other regional parties) are migrating to the BJP ruled Gujarat State to seek better opportunities? In recent election, even non-Hindus voted in numbers in favor of Mr. Modi and BJP candidates. The State of Gujarat is becoming mini U.S.A as per Americans (non-NRI), who visited Gujarat recently. Let Gujarat Shine without corruptions, if other states do not want. By false propeganda one (media and channels)cannot fool people all the time.

Well said!! Congress needs to do serious introspection rather than attributing the win of Modi to some communal and sectarian idealogy. People in are not fools, they want a goverment and leader which is clean and efficient. What Modi demonstrated in the 5 years he is capable of delivering it to people. Obviously, things are not perfect...there are still farmer deaths and still areas where lot needs to be improved. I think, Modi has shown the humility in accepting that...which is important. On the other hand will this magic of Moditva work across India...it still is a question mark. No party has a leader with a national image like that...moreover Modi himself will have to moderate his image to become acceptable across the country.

The victory of BJP led by Mody is remarkable as this was acheived despite much anticipated anti-incumbancy feelings and negative propaganda by self-righteaus peaple. It was also due to the good work done by Mody and his vision.Compare this with other states. This election was won on positive votes and that is one for which peaple of Gujrat,Mody and BJP should be proud of.Other parties and CM's can learn more than a thing from Mody about honesty , work ethics , vision for tomorrow and good governance. We need more Modies today.

Well, the formulae is very simple ! You do your homework well in advance and you will certainly be rewarded big time. I condemned Modi to a great degree as he perenially highligted the cliched issues in public during his campaign. But off late I must confess that I have fallen for Modi's gut and grit policy. After all, there should be a Godfather for hindus as well!

A good engineering on wrong & bloody foundation will eventually crumble. All the development can be wiped out in three days of rioting . Isn't it necessary to have a harmonious foundation to the society first ?
