It's just not cricket

What is that you like the most on a cricket field? A tearaway fast bowler aka Shoaib Akhtar or Bret Lee, steaming in hard, hurling deliveries to Sachin Tendulkar or A sanath Jayasuriya, and then in this battle of talent,...

Piyush This is height of experment by Sony Max. Very much Similar to what our great coach Mr Chappel has done and still doing with our team. When the contract was with ESPN STAR. I was always looking forward for the pre and post match analysis. Now with the contract awarded to Sony Max i alway wish when this pre and post analysis is going to over.

Ratan.K.Datta I find there are people who like to justify Sony/Max using Mandira Bedi to "scandalize" cricket.I think time has come ICC must put some code of CONDUCT in place for the channels on

--use of anchors

--No of Ad spots they can take while the match is on

Bhupendra can the "sane" media and "sane and serious" cricket lovers not join hands to weed out such shows which scandalize Cricket and the greed which encroach on right to watch Cricket. Since all these channels are pay channels.
Are the Mandira and Sony/Max supporters trying to tell us as because they like a woman on TV screen with scanty attire and Sony believes it improves viewership,it can be pushed down the throat of all Cricket fans. Do these people care for Indian Cricket?
Certainly not - Kunal Dasgupta had to apologize along with Kris Srikant.BUFFOONARY at its BEST.
Who cares for Cricket- empty stands tell it all. Pepsi big "Hoo Haa" ad Campaign certainly did not lift the sagging spirit of Team India, even Sourav Ganguly's shameless display his desire to get back did not inspire the team. Will Country understand that a Coach without scruple will never be respected. A Captain who did treachery, can not INSPIRE .

Abhijit In India cricket has become a part of entertainment...and as the days are progressing we can see lots of TV actor and actress have started doing analysis. I really don;t know how Sony Max can run such kind of show.... andhow the famous players can become a prt of the penel..... it's really creazy....

Zulfikhar I dont understand how they will talk for two lengthy hours before the start of the match. A world cup football final will be over in two hours and these people in extra innings will take two hours to get started. There talk is nothing but waste of time and moreover they made Mandira to sit there with tight dresses to add glamour to their talk. Extra innings is nothing but extra boring.

shenulal respected sir,
the most borin thing is tht the analysis made by mandira and team on the intervals..they dont know wht they are sayin..im surprised why no one is repondin to this?? is cricket the game made to be flirted or do they hav any other intension?/..and more over cricket in india is jst a boosted game..cricketrs are given like they were born in royal families.. the amatured sports editions too is a cause for it.. jst 10 countries plays the game.. india;s position is in 7th..still they were given the greatest payment.. its cut clear tht they dont desreve it.. the people of india is becomin more and more common sensed day by day..i guess and hope one day every one will react to these policies.. ..
if to be sayin frank..cricket is an entertaintment..jst dont spol its pleasure by appoitin women commentaters..and other than manjerekar and ravi shastri,,.all are same i guess...

Priyabrata Bang on the target. So many of us do feel the same. Cricket is serious business in our country and should be treated so. Mandira, Rohit Roy, and such beauty brigades are not in anyway going to help the sports. They are there just to make money and make some stupid coments.

Vijay Hi Bhupendra,
Itz nice to see such a razor-sharp, venom-spitting article from you.

1. Lets be fair, this lady is there just to grab a lot more eye-balls before or after the match (TRP's, hope u do understand)

2. Tell me, most of the experts on the panel shouldn't be there. Geoff Boycott was one of the slowest and pathetic-to-watch batsmen who wld have been an unfit to the game. Just for instance. And in Charu Sharma, we have someone who just likes to cut short other ppl on the show.

Most of them haven't played ODIs, and are thus not in a position to be there.
Why dont we have people like Greatbatch, Martin Crowe, or the likes of the better ODI players of the past!!!!

Its so inane stuff out there watching these players most of whom have never played ODis or were no good at it, trying to make the discussions seem like pot-boilers.

3. We all re-invent ourselves. So let the poor woman do her bit. We dont expect such write-ups from you in the future.

In this age of byte/quote driven journalism, let that bit of slapstick make it a little less commonplace.

Regards
Vijay
