Narayana Murthy as Prez would be a shame

I write this at my own risk. I know I invite the ire of Indian IT professionals by talking this way about their patron saint. Kannadiga software pros, their parents, and other Infosys worshippers will call me an...

more sikander Later at a press conference, Murthy explained that it was done to save his foreign guests from embarrassment.
READ THIS Mr. Sathish---

"The original idea was to have five youngsters sing the National Anthem. Then I felt we had several foreigners and we did not want to put them in an embarassing position of them being silent and others singing it, so we decided on the instrumental version. This was fine because the National Anthem need not be sung always. The important thing was to show solidarity and our respect," Narayana Murthy had said.

more Jose Thomas I am no fan of NRN. But hey, do you see anthems being sung out during most of the sports meet. It is almost always instrumental. If playing the instrumental form of it, is so disgraceful to kanndigas, would you start thulping everybody who plays instruments.

I think, culture cops or I should say nose pickers (not self, but of others), should clean the scum from their brains.

Journalism should not go to such shambolic troughs to attract readers.

There is no Kannadiga feeling or self abuse what you claimed at the beginning what this is about. It is about people like you just trying to pick on each letter told out by any public figure.

It goes beyond doubt that NRN will form a poor president. If you reason it out, I am sure you will get a logical answer rather than building fragile mounts out of anthills.

PC BHATNAGAR We have two eminent personalities-the present Vice-President and Dr. Karan Singh. Non -BJP parties will skip a heart beat if Mr Shekhawat's name comes up because of his RSS connection but what about Dr Karan Singh? His Congress connections can be ignored for his sheer brilliance. In any case Lallu-the Indian Mascot is always available for, he claims to be a king-maker.

Ram I agree that a person who has seen nothing outside Infosys and beyond can never be the president. Mr.murthy has been rying out a lot to get into the political framework. He should understand that the employees of Infosys bow to him for reasons outside the faith. While I appreciate the effort put in by the infosys gang to build the organisation, I see him as a very-shortsighted person who is just running out of ideas to keep himself in limelight.
Mr. Murthy, go home and enoy your retired life. We wll remmber you as the man who built Infosys and with pride I samy you are Kannadiga.

more Sanjay Dave Very well said. I have not seen any steps from Infosys to make Bangalore better (Forget Karnatka or India). There should be a concrete contribution from him to make his followers a responsible citizens. Do you know any so called infoiets working for social cause on regular basis?

roopesh I think Mr.Narayanamurthy may or may not be a good president. but there is nothing shameful or nothing reprehensible as the author said. He is the tech icon of India. The person who believes in values. He is successful and a devotee of truth.

sajeev Regarding his explanation on prevention of singing of national anthem........it clearly points to his state of mind that we have to sing to the tune of foreigners. If that is the case what will be the situation if he become president of india. I respect him as a fairly good corporate boss but when it comes to national pride our feelings are not short to that of a foreigner

Suman Hi Satish, simply brilliant writing to make the corporate guru understand that he as president "will" be a "disgrace" to this country. Totally With u against NRN as the prez, its high time NRN tries to look at how many of his employees have parted ways with their family due to the false culture and pressure he builds.
