Narayana Murthy as Prez would be a shame

I write this at my own risk. I know I invite the ire of Indian IT professionals by talking this way about their patron saint. Kannadiga software pros, their parents, and other Infosys worshippers will call me an...

paatchu Mr.NR Murthy's approach is some what same to those many others also, who wants this land to be flourished..but disappointed with the way it's heading towards...

Unknowingly we begin to hate everything we had.!

This is one of them.
But remember...who is criticising him..?
These third rated POLITICIANS.!!
They have no business to criticise him.

But...Mr Murthy deserves a common man's criticism,as he tried to do some ridiculous thing...

Anyway businessmen are more realistic than politicians.

Girish I dont know if NRN would make a great president or not. But the this article are silly, ametuerish pretention of an argument. Dude, you need a break!

more V.Yuvaraj He is just a businessman. He makes people work for more than 12 to 13 hours a day, which is totally unethical and inhuman and this would certainly affect the employees both mentally and physically. Also we read in newspapers aboout the degeneration of culture in software companies ( very big article came in The Hindu long before). I am certain that Mr. Narayanamoorthy is in the know of all that happens in his company. He is interested in making his company grow. It is not that Narayanamoorthy has made the lives of many middle class families well off. The other way is also true. It is the employees of his company who has made him an icon in India. He is a person who per se opposed reservation, without knowing the realities. He is much bothered about the infrastructure for software companies than the pitiable living conditions of crores of people. Seem to care more for the foreigners than for us. May be the slavery attitude is still running in his blood.

Vicky I think author of this article belongs to SC/ST/OBC community, that is why he is more concerned about stupid reservation policy and favouring coward politicians like Karunanidhi,Mulayam,Sonia etc....The only solution to all these kind of problems is to publicly hang this kind of people and politicians...

Saurabh Bhandari Agreed that Mr. Murthy is a great person and and achieved alot in his life. I also agree with his idea that English should be a must to compete with world. But, the disrespect that he showed to National Anthem shall not be acceptable. He can be a good Prez but he must learn to respect national anthem even if he is the only Indian and rest all the foreigners.

thirumalai nambi Dear President.. I respect Your achievements..but You have committed a mistake by suggesting a successor for Your post ..sometimes u have to abide to the protocol !!
And for Narayanamurthy ..his life +infosys+SudhaMurthy+nandan encounters are etched in the minds of the current generation well above any other biography..but we 'middle Class' salaried indians who do not get much affected by who is ruling (becos we get our salary monthly) ..get carried away by this branding excercise of Infosys ..!!! Cmon take a break.
Yes it is accepted ..he has created wonders in IT business.(as like other IT companies ).yes he is ethical ..(we can find many businessmen or govt offcial or a remote village school teacher )..

but Let us award him good Industrial awards and provide more Tax sops (as it is given to Infosys etc now ) and call it PERIOD.

But lets not lift him tooooo much and award the presidential post ..if this post is so easy ..Let me recommend my Father who also fits into this ethical man ..etc etc category

Can I start an email campaign supporting my father ? ..its so easy isnt it ..

After all we are Middle Class !!!!!!

Indian very well said and really a great article. A prez shud be one who has contributed in the growth of Science and technology in India rather than a potential businessman. Tomorrow India will land up saying Azeem Premjee aur a sabir bhatia like can be the prez of India. NRN just dont fit into the brackets of Radhakrishnan or APJ kalam for that matter. It is hillarious.

Vinod It is a shame that this guy who goes around portraying himself as the epitome of humbleness, indianess etc...is doing things like this...(guess the truth comes out somewhere)

I blame the media and all people who endorse this guy and have given him a larger than life status is somwhere to blame...

isnt he tired of playing a double role...isnt it time he stopped living a PR dream....shamless NRN...

Lakshminarayana I couldn't agree with you more.

Besides his disrespect for the National Anthem, being a good and successful business man doesn't qualify one to become the President of the country, just as being a good economist doesn't make Manmohan Singh a good Prime Minister. As a President, NRN will need to take critical political decisions and he is not a political person. Or is he???

Vivek I agreed with the comment made by Satish. It is shame for the IT company like Infosys whose mentor has given comment on media. If he doesnt have respect to national Anthom then he is not fit to be an Indian. We admire his achvmts and his sharp business acumen as but not at the cost of our pride for being an indian. He is unfit to become president. he is not pardonable even if he apologise in media.
