I write this at my own risk. I know I invite the ire of Indian IT professionals by talking this way about their patron saint.
Kannadiga software pros, their parents, and other Infosys worshippers will call me an... Read The Article
Its the absolute truth. He is nothing but yet another businessman whose main concern is to make money and nothing else.i doubt what wonder he can do to our contry after becoming president. If he thinks that he can make another infosys story again then i would advise him to go ask people working for infosys today. Those people will show you the true colours of infosys and not what media and Mr.Murty projects it to be. The disgrace to our national anthem showws it all.

Lulu Mulayam being the better patriot than NRN is a foolish statement by a journalist. Patriotism doesn’t just lie in singing national anthem and hoisting the Tiranga. Patriotism is serving the needy doing something for the betterment of the poor, which NRN and his wife does to an extent which you are not aware of I think. Your say about NRN's views about reservation is just disgusting. why the reservation be on the caste why cant it be on the economic state of the family and why even on that, you give them free education give them education at lower fee so that they can afford, why give them reservation in the seats available? Let them get it at their IQ and help them economically. The third one about the English language, you know that English is very much needed. If you appose then why you did learn English, the article itself is in English. :)

Hi,
All the things told by you is correct, but these are things which we look for in a President: 1. Nationalist, meaning we should be proud of our heritage and singing National Anthem should be sense of pride and not embarrasment; 2.His views of English might be correct, but the contraoversy in Bangalore was that many schools were permitted to function, provided they have Kannnada as medium of instruction, for violation of a law of the land, punishments are imposed, you cannot take a view that these schools by dereognising shall affect the output of English speaking students for the It industry; 3.It is farce that our economy is driven by IT, we are strongt but our strength lies in other areas also, which all of sudden is spoken on the salary paid to the employees. Just because a company pays huge slalary, it does not mean they are good; 4.Ultimately It has brought to Bangalore - Chaos in the road, traffice jam and many other related problems making a peaceful leaving in Bangalore difficult. What is contribution of Mr.NRN to Bangalore City, grooming Infy and giving a value for the infosian and housing loans, do we require an infrastructure to be built only for one industry. Friends look out for other states, they may be not economically rich, but leaving conditions are better; Mulayam and Lallu are not national heroes to draw a comparison about their functioning. Nobody is inspired by their views in the country, but feeling that NRN is a better person than these folks is like comparing between Greens and Grains. What value will NRN bring to president's post, a person who normally pushes the problems of our country to all others excepting himself, this is all not good. bye venkat

I am pained to hear such irrelevant comments against NRN . The point of this controversy is regarding our National Anthem . And do you know who wrote this national anthem ? He is the person whom the world respects as a poet whose writings are beyond the limitations of man-made barriers , beyond the limitations of race, color, creed and countries . In other words, he would himself never allowed such narrow nationalistic ideas to dominate the minds of people. If that person would have been alive today , he himself would have been pained to hear such an uproar for a simple issue.

Mistakes happen with everyone as no one is perfect. But Mr. Murthy is the best possible option. And mind it, leaders like Mulayam, Lalu, Paswan, Karunanidhi, Deve Gowda, and Bal Thackeray are cheap people who don't even stand anywhere near Murthy. Their aim is money and power, if Murthy is not immediate danger to these two goals, they will be fine with his candidature.

Hi, Good Article. Lets not go to the extent of calling it a shame to name NRN as president. What about rubber stamps like (Jail) Singh!! Probably, Murthy's views come from the life pattern that he has witnessed. He is too IDEAL , Some Values are fine but in his case, it is probably too much and bcos he is succesful, most of the society tends to agree on most of the issues with him/Infy. He can never be a Icon for Youth as Mr.Kalam is. Remember Life is not Perfect . A perfectionist ( Painful) cannot be the right person for that Rank. We need people who can bend the rules and take this country to the next leap..

The writer knows only the partial truth. I really pity upon you. Ofcourse, not having a political background might be a handicap, but in other words, look at the great political leaders that we have. But in this current India, it is better not to have Mr.NRN as the president because we are "Blessed" with a bunch of bloody politicians ruling our nation who has no respect for others. Mr. NRN, Infy needs you. Remember my friends, he is the person responsible for giving jobs to more than 1 lac. indians. Just imagine what would have happened if there was no IT revolution?? Just try to imagine that, and you will understand how ignorant the author is regarding Mr. NRN. And Reg. the Reservation Issue, I support NRN 100%. If these so called lower cast people needs job as a gift, then take it. But remember that it is ust as BEGGING. You have to fight for everything in this world my friends, you have to fight. And fight hard. I am in favour of reservation to everyone who is Financially unable to pursue higher education....But Reservation based on cast, it is absurd.

SHANKAR
Excellent article.....NRN Murthy is unfit to even be considered for the Presidents post.
.....least interested in uplifting OBCs to make India a Developed Nation by 2020.
......had said that "reservations are bad" .
......Willing to forego our National Anthem to impress a few foreigners.
......Wonder how he would misuse his President's office, if elected to further the expansion of INFOSYS all over the world, for earning more DOLLARS.
......Does not care about the Caste oppression in India or even in Karnataka. What prevented him from giving a good reservation percentage in jobs at INFOSYS for the KANNADIGA OBCs ?
......Even though Iam a Kannadiga, I want some other OBC leader who cares about the education and welfare of the OBCs to occupy the H'nble. President's chair.
( Posted: Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 08:47 )
- Immature Article with Very Less Spohistication and lack of totality in the view...
Secondly, MR. Shankar, please don't use every forum to promote your OBC cause.
Beleive me Politicians Brand you as OBC's forever, they dont want your upliftment, they want thiers...you people are made the scape goats...
( Posted by Brighu on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 10:56 )
Stop Calling Yourselves an OBC and try to come up, if you really want to... you will definetely come up!
Stop this Self Pitying OBC Mantra First...
Don't always See through the Jaundiced OBC eye. You will always be an OBC. Don't think your so called leaders are fighting for your cause, they are doing it for thier cause......to get your votes from people like you...
