Narayana Murthy as Prez would be a shame

I write this at my own risk. I know I invite the ire of Indian IT professionals by talking this way about their patron saint. Kannadiga software pros, their parents, and other Infosys worshippers will call me an...

Srikanth There are many flaws in your report.
First of all reservations are not necessary based on caste any more.Mr.Narayana Murthy understands the value of merit,so that is why he is taking the right stand.
I am appaled when it is written that 'he doesnt understand the caste struggle and its background'.This is actually the shame for India.
Secondly Government run schools certainly are nothing but cowsheds. He is one of those few people who have come up because of his own talent and drive. So does the author believe the primary education is very strong in India? The states have refused to increase the funding for primary schools..
And he has never shown disrespect to Indian Languages.
We have to accept that we wont go anywgere in this world without English.Of course you can come up in life. But the areas of opportunities are few.
And if these comments will not give Lalu's and Deva Gowda's votes,he doesnt need them.I am happy that he is not speaking for votebank.Even though he is not elected as the president he will do a world of good for India.
It seems that the person who wrote these comments doesnt understand the need of the hour.

Ashok I think we all can forgive his mistake for all the good things he had done to this nation. Afterall no one in this world is PERFECT!! And he accepted his mistake...

Siva Natarajan HI,

Your information doesn't have any validity, If we have good leaders then NRN can be compared with them and a decision can be taken, But india lags good leaders.

The leaders you mentioned were the people who has spoiled the nation after independence, they are the people who ruined their states for personnal benefits. Those leaders have taken language to safe gaurd their votes.

Its always better to have a Non Politician who is a brilliant leader as president, We all should be happy to see Abdul Kalam as president, he is the first president after radhakrishnan to move with the people and done manythings for the country as president.

In the same way, NRN will also deliver. Comparing with the lists been identified for president, NRN is the best person. T.N Seshan showed the powers of EC and made several reforms for EC, in similar if NRN comes he will do several reforms for india as president.

surya I would request all bloggers to think twice before demeaning such an icon.

sachin kulkarni I am not much fan of NRN, however I feel the author of this article is has little to no rational to justify this blog. You present some scenarios and judge a man to be worthiness of residing in Rashtrapathi Bhavan. If it had been an open ended discussion, I speculate you will eat back your words ... no doubt about it.

A poor show of incoherent words, perhaps you could do better than this.

Shilpa I agree with all that the author has said. But I dont think thats the whole truth.
I also think with this article he is just showing off his short-sightedness, that he is a horse with blinkers and can see just a line and not the plane.

Mr D P Satish, some of ur blogs are interesting and true. This one is probably ur worst. Before u write more blogs, get your facts right, do some research, project the whole thing rather than just one issue in one light.

M B Nataraj I donot think Narayana Murthy ever sought the post.
It is not fair to drag them onto a bandwagon that has not even left the station and then bash them senseless.
We elect people's representatives over and over again and again despite their lies, miserable performance, antinational and social acts and positively criminal behaviour.
We never call upon them to perform or better still send them to the jails where most of them should be for their violations of law.
Why bash Murthy?
or is it a concerted attempt to derail the murthy for president bandwagon on a longshot that it becomes a reality?

jmd The author raises some points but he really needs to justify them. Did NRN ever say abt such a thing on the national anthem? Does the author have any proof or cooked up something so that he had something to go against NRN? NRN never meant abt english the way the author puts it. In all his speeches and talks, NRN stresses the need for english education as without that many students are losing out in the competitive market. So is it wrong to stress on that?

Umesh Satyanarayana Satish, I wish you could have waited for few more days before you wrote this article. I appreciate your forethinking - thinking about rare reviews you would get on this article. Still you dared to post this. You have done wonderful homework on NRN's background and current happenings at Mysore Infy campus. This incident has created an uproar in the Karnataka's assembly and what you have written has been discussed in assembly yesterday. You have all the right to pen your voice. I also read NRN's address to media on this incident. I think he didn't disrespect by not singing national anthem. By the way, if you want to know what corporate success, ask a shareholder. If you want to know whether a corporate leader can be a great national leader, 21st century will prove it for India? Just wait - 15 years down the line, you will appreciate the Indian Govt and Karnataka Govt too. I don't comment on NRN's nomination towards Presidentship. Forget for a moment he is a nominee for Supreme commander of armed forces. Just imagine, you being a chairman of Infy and put in his shoes. How would you have reacted? You missed out empathize before you wrote about NRN.
