Narayana Murthy as Prez would be a shame

I write this at my own risk. I know I invite the ire of Indian IT professionals by talking this way about their patron saint. Kannadiga software pros, their parents, and other Infosys worshippers will call me an...

Krishnam Raju Yes, you are right. Murthy is a coporate business man who develops and sells software. He is not eligible to become President of India. Rich people in limelight can never ever handle the responsibility of a President as they dont know except earning money in all possible ways. The new President would be someone whose profile is close to Kalam.

Lets wait and see who's our Brand New President!

2.english as language: it is a truth...and more often truth hurts...

3. he has a vision for growth..and u mentioned lalus, mulayams and thakereys..please dont vring NRN to shame by asking him to accept his support..

Guru Well put.. but i tend to disagree with the reservation aspect that you have mentioned. He has come from a government school which infact highlights that reservation should be for the poor and not caste based.
He is just another business magnate who has created his own empire. Forget India, he has done little for the development of Bangalore except the Sulabh Sauchalaya. It is unforturnate to hear such deprecative comments coming from a distinguished individual as Mr.Murthy.

Rohan Perfect.... A Business Man becoming President.. They don't understand what is culture, except money.

gopikrishna I agree with the people who say Mr.Murhty can't be a good president for India. And why only Mr.Murthy aren't there better people other than him who suits for that post. There are retired Generals from army who had fought bravely during the wars, can't they be made the President and the Supreme Commander of The Armed Forces?(this is a suggestion) and there are many more Intellectuals in the country and why only Mr.Murthy (again).

Preity Well, you say it is a shame to have him as an Indian president.
But let me ask you, what is the contribution of the so called patriotic presidents to India?
Patriotism should be reflected in actions and not in words. He has been able to put India on the development map which no other patriot was able to achieve.
Regarding reservations, it is you who are blind towards the actual discrimination.
It is the so called OBCs who have been discriminating the SC/STs all these years..so where does the question of reserving seats for them arise?
Moreover Narayanamurthy has suggested about improvement in primary education so that everyone is able to compete in the same platform when it comes to professional education...Yes..People like you will not understand that because free lunch is always an easy way out.

Murali Rao Satish,

Thank you for bringing this up!

I am totally disappointed and ANGRY with what NRN had to say about our anthem. It is an INSULT.

We respected and loved him, maybe this is his way of thanking all his 40 Thousand odd employees who are Indians.

Shame on NRN! You Let us down as Indians and Kannadigas. Kannadigas pride in being Indians is perhaps incomparable.

May be he was DRUNK! But i am amazed that this came out of HIM.

He owes an Apology to all INDIANS.

President.... Please spare us.... Let him be happy dishing out advises, suggestions etc...

NRN, U INSULTED US! You Let yourself DOWN!

Santhosh Hi,

A good thought provoking article.
I request beloved president kalam to stay in the post for another 5 years. it is very difficult to get respect from all the classes, But Our beloved president kalam has received respect from all the people.

Being a kannadiga it does not make any sense to make Sir NarayanaMurty as president, with achievements you have to value how much the person has given to the society, In this respect i think Sir Narayana Murty fails.

Gopi Krishna NRN will be a lousy prez.. no seconf thoughts needed. while i appreciate your research to come up with this pience, which am sure will atract a lot of blogging and viewership in the next couple of days, i will still say that the figurehead post is ornamentary as far as our democratic set up is concerned.. So Amithabh, NRN, Dhirubahi (posthumous :)), and even Gavaskar can be in the running ..
