I write this at my own risk. I know I invite the ire of Indian IT professionals by talking this way about their patron saint.
Kannadiga software pros, their parents, and other Infosys worshippers will call me an... Read The Article
Satish, I very much appreciate your concern,I fully agree with you, such idiots like the Narayana Murthy are good businessmen who take care of their business interests and not of the nation. He is brahmin born scheduled caste for the nation who can not have any concern for common man, all his publicised stunts of doing good work for the common man are hoaxes played well with media attention,a brahmin is one who is learned and has response and compassion with responsibilty to society, not his birth decides of a person that he is brahmin. Brahmin with shoodra pravratthis is as much a shoodra in a society as any one else who does not care for the well being of other citizens. Good of governance is to take care of all citizens and see that good reaches to each of the citizen irrespective of his caste, religion and faiths.A person who minds only his concern of his business and insults the nation, national anthem is no good as national president.Kumarswamy, the CM of karnataka was fully justified when he said that he will not give any lands near bangalore, his Infosys has to go out atleast 50 kms out of bangalore and develop non-agricultural lands for his IT ventures is correct stand.SM Krishna took tonnes of money to favour these tycoons by acquiring the lands and cutting bargains deals with these tycoons.Lifes of farmers is oppressed by these tycoons in the wealth creation.Wealth created by oppression by commerce is not wealth of good health.

I completly agree with your view that NM should not be considered for the post of president. It is better to abolish the post from India altogether. But I dont agree with you and completely agree with NM that ONLY MERIT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR JOBS. Please give all facilities to poor and required people to study. But when it comes to jobs and admissions in professional colleges only MERIT should work. Secondly English is very much required if India need to progress. You cannot present India to outside world in Tamil or Bengali or Sindhi. Can u. Excepting these 2 points I agree that NM should not become president. In fact it is the STUPID media which has nothing to do to sensationalise such irrelevant things.

I agree only a couple of points mentioned by the author. 1. For whatever reason, National Anthem should be respected. If the foreigners feel embarassed, they should not enter this "embarassing" nation in the first place. What made Mr. Murthy feel that it is embarassing to play our National Anthem. 2. I agree that Mr. Murthy has no respect for our language/culture and is certainly a shrewd corporate when it comes to terms.
Rest all is bullshit... This was reported by the most popular daily, Vijaya Karnataka, the just wanted to hide it, now accept it.
If NRN opposes the reservation, so does every literate/responsible citizen is doing. Just because the author wanted to take out his ire, he has given some really non-sense reasons and comments. NRN is a fantastic human being, great corporate, though i dont support him for President's role.

Well said Satish! You have given enough food for thought for all those who have been great admirers of NRN including myself.I too read in Todays 'Deccan Herald' about this shameful incident that happened at Mysore, and after reading your article I am wondering what has gone wrong with NRN? It is said "Be a Roman while in Rome".Why can't the miniscule minority of the foreigners who enjoy the facilities and training at his Infosys campus, sing our National Anthem along with us as long as they are here.If they can't sing, let them at least stand in silence showing respect to our National Anthem while they are here. What is so embrassing about it? Forget about becoming the President, he does'nt even deserve to enter the Portal of our Rajya Sabha.Let him live with his millions taking care of the forigners in India, but die like an Indian, with pride & honour.Good Bye NRN!

Hey Blogger,
I can accept that he can't prove to be a good prez for your points linked with the National Anthem and businessman perspective. But just tell me one good reason as to why you were using ENGLISH as the media for writing this blog when you don't believe that english is not so important as what NM or even me belive? Secondly, cast stuff.....pls don't bring that in this blog.. Actually it has really diluted this blog like anything. cheers! Urs is a half done blog or rather a blog which started in the correct direction but took another route like a film director..ahahahhaaha

I completely agree with the author. Narayana Murthy is no doubt a sucessful business man but is not a proud Indian. If you listen to him carefully, he puts on an accent to impress his foreign guests. He sees everything from a narrow angle of how benefical it is for his company's profits, period. I don't see any reason why kanndigas should be proud of him since he does nothing to show us that he is proud of his language or his background. If he lives in Bangalore its merely because its a business convienece to him and will be the first one to leave Bangalore or for that matter India if he can find a cheaper and better talent elsewhere. Ofcourse, he is a shrewd business man and deserves all the sucess he has, but lets not making him any greater than what he is ... that is a great business man.

Very true, I completely agree with u. Being and Indian and Kannadiga I never felt proud of NRN. The guy seems to think he is a foreigner in India by ignoring the national anthem. Very very disrespectful and shameful.

I am totally against Mr. Murthy as Pres. but at the same time i think your views lack totality and rather than looking comprehansively at his persona and his thoughts you just pick one or two things and instances from i dont know where, exaggerate them and belittle this great man. Please do not doubt his patriotism, integrity. Better reason for opposing him for top post shall be lack of administrative or governance experiance, he should atleast have a term in upper house before thinking about presiden's post.

Manjunaath
He may be good in his industry. What exposure he has to indian social life or for that matter Indian Politics. Remember his outbursts when against the State govt.on roads( the hidden thing was land to Infosys at cheaper cost ) How he accepted the Post of BIAPL chairman as soon as HDK came to power & consoled him. We at bangalore know the real purposes NM breathes. At least let him get nominated to rajya sabha in the company of vijay mallya, rajeev Chandrashekar and other business magnets .Thats his clan.
