Narayana Murthy as Prez would be a shame

I write this at my own risk. I know I invite the ire of Indian IT professionals by talking this way about their patron saint. Kannadiga software pros, their parents, and other Infosys worshippers will call me an...

more Poonam after reading your article,i feel that we Indians are really good in creating hypes for nothing. I don't know how much national anthem means to you, because what actually he wanted to communicate was not this (your article) but something else. Because NMurthy is such a personality and a leader on whom every Indian is proud. He is the man who has taken our country far ahead globally. He should not actually enter into such dirt, just his name came as a proposal is really threatnening to peple that they have immediately come out with such articles means politics is a dirt game in which person like him is really unfit.

He should be there where people really wants him as a mentor not as a political puppet. So my dear i think we Indians only deserve Netas like Mulayam Lalu, and balasaheb who wants to take our country hundred years back. we are not happy with the people who r visionary.
In my opinion Murthy sir is really unfit for this post.

more Mahesh President is a Political Post lets have some person who knows Politics not only national but at International levels as well. Mr. Kalam is first of all not the suitable candidate for President Post but still he is. It reminds me the situation where Medical Association President is an Advocate. Advocates are best suitable for the position in Law related fields and has nothing to do with Medical Field, except for its legal aspects. There could be an exception that Legal person can be a President of Medical council. But it looks very rare. Dr. Kalam is respected in the fields where he has served but certainly not as a president. Similarly Mr. Murthy is highly respected as IT man but certainly not as President. Remember its a political post and the man who hates politics can not think about to held such position. It may so happen that tomorrow richest man like Amitabh, Mukesh Ambani, Godrej and others will start contesting. We also need to stop making State governers from business and burocracy backgrounds like C Rangarajan. Who was State Governor for Andhra. Where he has no background of running state but more of running RBI.

more adi it would be shameful to have murthy as 1st citizen for we will never know what he may shoot off his mouth which may be insulting to our nationalism. also he is not a patriot but a businessman who has risen by what we all know in his former employer oganisation.

Mukesh I think we have come out from our anlyzing thoughts, all most the whole of india thought that the indian cricket team will atleast make it to super 8, but that did not happen. If i were to give my vote for the next prez it would be anybody who can can come and give speech on the lal Quila.

Ajay In my opinion NRN makes a successful businessman and corporate celebrity but not a suitable contestant for the running the the office of the president.Though he has developed Infosys to greater heights in the international IT scenario with in a limited time, but a person who is so concern about singing his national anthem in the presence of a few foreigners shows that he may also compromise on the patriotic values if the business demands in this western world dictated regime. It is the president of India who has visited and not the president of United States atleast .Mind you even if bush comes to India he will be welcomed after the national anthem is sung I beleive. And why is it that he was so muchconcerned about the people of foreign origin instead of taking pride on the occasion of President`visit. He is running business in India not because of his patriotism but the calculated revenue he gets from abroad in the form of Dollars and it is really more profitable to run at a very low cost labour and skilled and dedicated persons available in India. This makes my opinion claer that NRN is not siuted for the pres post but instead Dr.Kalam can be given another term.

13 Reasons why Narayana Murthy (NRN) and Me are eligible for the President's post.

(1) NRN donates money for charity. I also donate money to beggars on the road.

(2) NRN has views and opinion on every subject under the sky. I also has strong opinion on everything.

(3) NRN makes strong statements about every political issues. I also give out strong comments about every political issues (It's just that you media guys don't give coverage to me.. that's not my mistake, right??)

(4) NRN runs an IT services company. I run a human services company.

(5) NRN runs Infosys in Bangalore. I run a barber shop in Bangalore.

(6) NRN gave employment to 50 thousand people. I gave employment to 5 barbers.

(7) Infosys has attrition rate of 15%. My shop has attrition zero percent!! (see, I am a better employer than NRN)

(8) NRN has turnover in billions.. I have turnover in thousands.

(9) NRN doesn't support reservation and he is a supporter of merit. I also doesn't support reservation. In my barber shop, merit is the key to success.

(10) NRN runs his business purely on technical skills. My business is run on pure technical skills as well (hair cut and shaving are highly skilled jobs!!)

(11) NRN has clients from many countries. I also have clients from many countries (I just finished hair cut for a German)

(12) NRN got hundreds of acres of land for free (cheap price) from Government. I am running my business on my own land (I paid thru my nose)

(13) NRN makes huge profits, but pay NO taxes. I make less profit, but pay taxes as per govt. rules.

So, if NRN is eligible for the Indian president post, I should be eligible for atleast the local panchayat president post.

kpandit Taking the writer's thinking logically further, Lalu should be the president. He has not built any corporate "empire", he wallows like a buffalo in the cesspool of Indian "culture", projects his "dehati" image while indulging in corruption & will be 100% pro-reservation. We can expect all schools to be turned into cowsheds with immediate effect.

H.S Krishna Prasad This matter is being blown out of proportion. I am sure there are many here who have not got the grapes and talking now "Grapes are Sour". Let's stop this.

Personally I have met him once on board travelling to Mumbai. I was shocked to see his simplicity in life. Carries his own lugguage, no escort, sits on an economical class and keeps chating with people who so ever it is without any status Q.

Lets all understand that, we could not have seen this "Bhruhat Bangalore", without such extra-ordinary people. It's a gift for all of us. We Bangalorean's should be proud to have such dynamic people across. May be the statement on which he made is something concerning. But with my short meet, i do not think that he made this intentionally. I also heard somewhere that he has apologised later. But we are blowing the issue still.

Our political media's also are trying to encash and want to come to limelight. But if each one of you touch your own heart and question yourself of your own integrity, you will be no where. Let's accept the fact. We do mistakes, but it is not noticed. I have seen people sleeping on bed's on the Republic day, Independence day saying, thanks, it is a holiday. They switch ON the TV and would be sleeping, even if they hear the National Anthem song. What are we talking. Let's us see and do a acid test ourselves before, we talf of someone.

I differ Mr. Satish. I am sorry.

Regards

H.S. Krishna Prasad

Krishna Kumar I think Narayana murthy is becoming Senile as he has crossed 60.We have projected him as SARVAGNA i.e who knows everything.Media in their interviews wanted his opinion on all matters whether it be on economy, politics, social issues and academic. It seems success has gone to his head. It is beginning of his fall. If a person is not humble to his nation, to his language to whom else he can be. True faces are coming out. It is good for everybody.I want mr Gowda to use this opportunity to settle score with him.
