Pankaj This comparison is interesting. Today India is where it is due to sheer talent and hard work, that our politicians are so averse to.
The last person who did anything for living in the Nehru-Gandhi family was Motilal Nehru. i.e. about a 100 years back. Ask anyone, who can survive so, for a hundred years? But this family has not only survived, but prospered beyond any reasonable limit.
The country has spent billions to safeguard their interests. They live on our hard earned money and tell us they are our saviors.
Rahul Gandhi can never be a leader of the people, he does not know what working hard means, what is unemployment or in fact anything that does not have his family's name.
Dhoni is different, only because, he dared to give himself a chance.
There is no comparison. you can not compare an utter failure call Rahul Gandhi to a-trying-hard-and-making-it-succeed MS Dhoni.

ASHISH Dear Sagarika
I am truly a fan of your writings. This is another superb writings of yours. There is a huge difference between MANMADE and SELFMADE.Dhoni and Rahul can never be compared.Dhoni is a talent and the other guy is nothing but a creation of Media because of his family connection.Dhoni is a down to earth character,a self made, talented but what about the othr guy?Is he not a tailored made? What his press secy.writes he reads only not knowing much about the contents. How a person like him being pushed forward to be icon of young genereation? This shows the bankruptcy of a party. They want to rule in the name of now-forgotton family. His UP visits, and other places could not arouse any enthu anywhere except in some sycophants. In fact has revealed his ignorance. The sooner the dynasty system goes the better.

manoj I do read and listen to IBN and this lady..not worth it.
A story of two pages with no take away...pretty much like their channel, 24 hours broadcasting, does not matter what. I doubt if IBN live falls under entertainment channel or some propaganda agency?
Guys, your role in society and nation is not as worthless as you have assumed!!

Gaurav Dhamija Leadership can't be inherited! Patriotism can't be inherited! Love for poor can't be inherited! Rahul might have been born in a great family but that does'nt make him great. We still refer to Rahul Gandhi as "Rahul" and MS Dhoni as "Dhoni". Dhoni has created a legacy of his own whereas Rahul is still in dark shadow of Gandhian tree. I feel that Rahul still needs to go a long way to be even considered worthy of comparison with Dhoni and beleive me when I say this I'm not even an ardent cricket fan!

Soumitra Mishra There is one more similarity between the two. Both Dhoni and Rahul gave a slip to the cops. Dhoni in Ranchi after return from Australia. Rahul during Orissa tour to visit a tribal village. Dhoni later said he wanted to have some fun with his friends and explained to the local SP that it was not to challenge or humiliate cops responsible for his secutiry. Rahul's SPG scolded the SP when he followed Rahul on his way to the tribal village in late evening. The IPS officer, responsible for Rahul's security (Centre says State is responsible for VVIP's security) was not a politician or a journalist. That was a Naxalite-hit zone. Rahul and his guards were chased by some villagers with lathis, mistaking Rahul & gun-tottering SPG to be Maoists. Later, they were clarified that it was not Maoists but Rahul and elite security guards. When will Rahul learn? There is a story doing round in Orissa that it was a ploy created by Congress to discontinue the campaign as Rahul had failed to generate any response from public as was expected. Also to defame the BJD-BJP govt for bad las and order. Now that it is exposed, will Rahul Gandhi learn a lesson from another champion of Indian youth today like MS Dhoni and made clear in public he had no ill intention to give a lsip to the cops in Orissa. His SPG did a mistake by scolding a senior police officer who was doing his duty. Rahul will never repeat such immatured activity in future. And this was all for his love for the triblas, not a part of any conspiracy...

Chintan Joshi I don't know why the media and the congress are so hopeful about this "BABA". I have seen him speaking in public here in gujarat campaign. He doenst have wat it takes to be a leader. (except "Gandhi" surname). And I would even say that the media is giving just unwanted attention and coverage to his so called "Discover India" tour.

India has many more issues to care about, and media is not playing the right role which it is supposed play play in a democracy like India.

Get Well Soon.

Shraddha Vinod This article is just one of the reminders that our politics is stuck in the miasma of "past perfects", religious fascism and ideological befuddlement....while the other spheres are moving ahead....at a startling pace. It is heartwarming to know that meritorious service is still rewarded.....But will this be merely an evanescent victory??? Unless the politics in this country grows with the same vigour, what will be the future of this culturally disunited country???? While each sphere requires its own leaders....all spheres together need a single benevolent leadership....which can be provided only by the state leadership....when will that happen????
