The Congress could learn a few things from the Indian cricket team.
Two young Indian men are on a unique journey. Rahul Gandhi, 37 year old MP from Amethi and bearer of India's most important political surname has just... Read The Article
You write well. And most important you are a first rate TV journalist with a vast sense of Indian and world issues. And you have a perspective and penchant for quickfire/rapid fire and repartee.. All make you one our best. How do you get time to blog?

I like the way you have captured the contrast in the mood of our country and one of its major political party.
Though at times, you loose on your thoughts and swirl in extreme sides of the topic, I still admire your choice of topics and holistic writing. It won't be flattering to say that I have become a fan of yours (your writing to be precise - or my gf will be ready to take your writings in action).

I do not agree with Sagarika . She has praised Dhoni too early, one win does not prove his mettle , we shall not forget that T20 match was lost badly by this very Dhoni team. and now he is showing true colour by calling bad of such seniors as Rahul and Ganguli who have given us more pleasure in the last decade. Other youngesters have also to prove their mettle and indian public is so crazy and behave strangly on win or loss of cricket matches that difficult to explain. Further comparison is totally wrong. In politics Carisma works and has been proved number of times when mixed with something extra...(like Garibi Hatao.... and Aam Admi..slogans and u are in opposition). Rahul Carisma will not work now as his party is in power. One way he can win , start calling a spade a spade even of his own party wrong policies. The day he start criticising his own government wrongs, he will become the darling of media and may be of public and then his every action will be watched carefully and may win election on his own. He has already told us that only 10-12 paisa reach out of 100 paisa to the beneficiary, he has to show to the public, how he can make it 60-70 paisa level and he has all the means in the world.

Its always a family tag that shined in the Congres CAP and its unanimously made accepted by the Nehru-Gandhi family to the people of 20th Century India. Atleast now Rahul Gandhi should come out of the shackles of FAMILY paint and do become an empowering icon for the youth. Not all the youth gets the driving seat to drive India, but Rahul Gandhi. Still I hope Rahul will not take it to heart the truth of not following with the family tag however its a chance to show his potential over the political anamolies that he 'CAN DO IT'.

what urban india feels about rahul is not really important.

you cant compar cricket with politics or the players with politicens as in politics vast exprience is required but in cricket luck and few brave decisions are alone required...no doubt that dhoni is a super star cap of ind but we should see his performance as time goes we should that he becoms a mr.dependable cap of ind .....

rahul gandhi may be having the most powerful political surname.....but inspite that he has certainly niot lived upto people's expectations..... coming to mahendra singh dhoni, he is the right person to lead our cricket team...he has everything needed to become a good leader....the best is that he can take succes or failure in the right way ....the way it is expected to be taken.....so i don't think there should be a comparison.
