Day 3 round-up: Dogged resistance by Joe Root and England's late order helped the hosts recover from a precarious 205 for 7 to reach 352/9 at stumps on day three to blunt the effort of Indian pacers and cut down the visitors lead to 105.

A six-wicket burst by India, thanks to Bhuvneshwar Kumar (4 for 61) and Ishant Sharma (3 for 109), after lunch left England worried, but a rearguard action by Root (78*), Stuart Broad (47 off 42) and James Anderson (23*) kept the Indian bowlers at bay in the final session.

But Root and Anderson dug in to deny India the final wicket. Root brought up his fifth Test half century and was 78 unbeaten, while Anderson was 23 not out.

    Commentary (India 2nd Innings)

That's all from us. Hope you enjoyed our coverage over the course of five days. Do join us for the next Test match at Lord's on Thursday, 17th July 2014. Till then its goodbye from us.

James Anderson is adjudged Man of the Match for his involvement in the record breaking last wicket partnership and 4 crucial wickets in the match.

MS Dhoni says that overall it was a good Test match for them. They were in trouble but few individuals stood up. On Binny, he says, he has done well in domestic cricket and Indian T20 league was good exposure and he fits in as the medium pace all rounder. He adds that Ashwin was not missed as their was no spin off the track.

Alastair Cook says that it was an extraordinary moment for him when he got the wicket. He says, they cannot afford to have a poor sessions in the next match as they did in this Test and thanked Joe Root for the crucial hundred. He adds it was not ideal to have the keeper at the stumps and most fielders in front of square in a Test and would want a better pitch which suits both batting and bowling.

There must be something in the waters of Nottingham. The batsmen are getting wickets and the bowlers are scoring runs. But on a serious note, India might have ended their never-ending search for an all rounder in the form of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Questions will be asked of Binny's role in the team but he showed that he does belong at this level.

The duo added 198 runs to create a record for the 10th wicket, giving England a slender lead. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the star with the ball claiming his maiden five-for. India struggled at the start of their second innings but once again Murali Vijay was on hand for the rescue with another fifty. Then, it was the turn of debutant Stuart Binny to shine as he notched up a fine fifty in his debut. Bhuvneshwar Kumar rounded off a brilliant Test match for him with another fifty in the second innings as India batted themselves to safer grounds. Dhoni made sure he batted long enough to make draw an inevitability.

5 long days have come to an end and the result is a draw, probably the right result in the end. With 4 Tests left, India would be happy that they haven't got off on the wrong foot here. Both teams will relatively be satisfied with this result. MS Dhoni won the toss on a belter of a track and his batsmen did not disappoint. Murali Vijay was the standout with a magnificent hundred but the highlight of the innings was the 111-run stand between Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami. England were tottering at 200 odd for the loss of 7 wickets but the English tail wagged and how! If Shami and Kumar did it for India, it was the Joe Root and Jimmy Anderson show that brought England back from the brink.
