The Board and the former Indian captain have not been on the best of terms.
New Delhi: Former India captain Kapil Dev has been invited by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to a function to felicitate the 2011 World Cup winners, according to sources.
Kapil is believed to have accepted the invitation and the move is seen as a major step forward in boosting the relations between BCCI and Kapil who have not been on the best of terms.
Board president Shashank Manohar has called the differences between the two as a thing of the past.
It will be the first BCCI function that Kapil will attend after he was banned for his involvement with the Indian Cricket League (ICL).
The Board is also believed to have invited Mohammad Azharruddin and other former Indian captains for the May 31 function.
