Gayle hopes win over PWI eggs on RCB

\"This win, hopefully, will give us the push in this tournament,\" RCB\'s West Indian opener said.

Bangalore: Chris Gayle is confident that the six-wicket win over Pune Warriors India will give Royal Challengers Bangalore the much-needed push in the tournament. "This win, hopefully, will give us the push in this tournament. There was a lot of pressure and initially I struggled with both Dinda and Nehra bowling in [the] right areas. I looked to accelerate and that big over [where Rahul Sharma was hit for five sixes] brought us back in the match," the West Indian, who guided his team's chase with a 48-ball 81, said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Meanwhile, Pune skipper Sourav Ganguly felt that 183 was a defendable total and they went for too many in the last over. "I thought 183 was a good total, but the last over was a bit expensive. The scoop over short fine [leg] from AB was a brilliant shot. Still I would day that we're playing well; these things happen. Hope we'll bounce back."

But the winning captain Daniel Vettori called RCB's last-over win a shift in momentum for the team. "We needed this one and it's a great momentum shift to do it under these circumstances. We've tried to maintain our fielding and it held us in good stead tonight."
