4:40 p.m. VA Jagadeesh (79*) and Abhishek Nayar (56*) made unbeaten fifties to take India A to 191 for 3 at stumps on day 2 after other top guns - Gautam Gambhir (11), Cheteshwar Pujara (25) and Virender Sehwag (7) - couldn't score much. Jagadeesh and Nayar shared an unbroken 77-run stand for the fourth wicket to take their side close to 200, still behind the tourists by 215 runs. Earlier left-arm spinner Bhargav Bhatt took 7 for 113 as India A dismissed West Indies A for 406.
3:40 p.m. Permaul and Miller have once again been among the wickets. After foiling Gambhir's (11) comeback attempt, Permaul sent back Sehwag (7) after tea, with Miller joining in to remove Pujara (25). India A 114 for 3 in 43 overs.
3:15 p.m. Fifty for Jagadeesh, and India's score is now past 100. The Kerala batsman is on 53* with his skipper Pujara on 25*. India A 101 for 1 in 37 overs.
3 p.m. Jagadeesh is looking good at 40, with Pujara batting solidly at the other end on 19 after tea. India A 81 for 1 after 29 overs.

1:55 p.m. Gambhir's scratch knock ends as Permaul continues from where he left in the first Test. The out-of-favour opener scored just 11 in a 44-ball toil and was never at ease. India A 50 for 1 in 15 overs.

11 a.m. Zaheer Khan & Co. are looking completely toothless and clueless as Johnson (90*) moves closer to his century. Miller is batting on 39. West Indies A 378 for 6 in 110 overs.
10:30 a.m. Johnson (72*) and Miller (26*) have together scored more than 60 runs in the first hour on second morning. None of the bowlers seem to be troubling the two allrounders. West Indies A 347 for 6 in 102 overs.

Day 1 Round-up: Zaheer Khan got his name in the wickets column but it was a patient 82 by opener Kraigg Brathwaite that helped West Indies A reach a decent 283 for six in 90 overs after opting to bat on Wednesday.
Brathwaite and middle-order batsman Asad Fudadin (63) added 117 runs for the fourth wicket to ensure a position of safety for the visitors at the Jawaharlal Nehru College of Engineering ground in Shimoga.
For India A, left-arm spinner Bhargav Bhatt (3 for 76) was the most successful bowler while Zaheer (1 for 44), Shami Ahmed (1 for 59) and Parvez Rasool (1 for 71) got a wicket apiece.
