IPL : Modi says Sunny doesn't lie

London: A day after the BCCI said there were no dues to be paid to former India captain and IPL governing council Sunil Gavaskar, ex IPL chairman Lalit Modi said he believed that Gavaskar had always been forthright in his dealings.

Speaking to CNN-IBN here on Wednesday, Modi said: "A lot has been said about Sunny. All I can tell you is that in all my dealing with Sunny, I've never known him to be a liar or anything. Sunny has been forthright. I'm sure they'll sort it out."

However, Modi refused to comment on the issue of the possibility of his passport being cancelled and also gave nothing away about his return to India.

Modi was also confident that the decision of the Enforcement Directorate which is investigating him will go in his favour.

On Tuesday, a disgruntled Sunil Gavaskar had said that BCCI, the promoters of the Twenty20 League, had not paid him a single penny for his services.

"I have just been told that Mr Sharad Pawar (ICC President) will organise a meeting between Shashank Manohar (BCCI chief) and me in his presence to sort out the matter and that for me is good enough," he said.
