Jamie Siddons to coach Wellington team

Siddons\' three-and-a-half-year tenure with Bangladesh ended in April after the World Cup.

Wellington: Jamie Siddons has been appointed coach of Wellington province in New Zealand's domestic competition following his spell in charge of Bangladesh's national team.

Siddons' three-and-a-half-year tenure with Bangladesh ended in April after the World Cup.

The 47-year-old Australian had previously been an assistant coach of Australia under John Buchanan, who was recently appointed New Zealand's national director of cricket.

Wellington chief executive Gavin Larsen confirmed on Monday that Siddons would take over from compatriot Anthony Stuart who has coached Wellington for the last five seasons.

Larsen said Siddons was a world-class coach whose international experience "will be an invaluable addition to our professional and high performance cricket environment in Wellington."
