The Sri Lankan pacer picked up a groin injury during the first ODI against India on Saturday.
Hambantota: Nuwan Kulasekara has been ruled out of the rest of the five-match One-Day International series against India after he picked up a groin injury during the first ODI on Saturday.
Mahela Jayawardene, Sri Lanka's captain said after the match, "Nuwan picked up a groin injury today, and has been ruled out of the series. We will talk to the selectors about a replacement."
Kulasekara injured himself while attempting to take a catch of Virender Sehwag in the 11th over off the bowling of Thisara Perera. Kulasekara ran in from mid-off and dived forward to nab the low catch. His creditable effort, however, didn't cost India a wicket as replays proved inconclusive. He did not bowl after the incident, having completed only five overs in his spell and came out to bat at No. 11 with India having already been in the driver's seat.
