Jayawardene departs after scoring a fabulous 85.
Sri Lanka innings:
50th over SL win with four balls to go. Thisara Perera's six in the previous over made all the difference, it has to be said. It's been one hell of a match. The Lankans chased down 281 thanks to their skipper Mahela Jayawardene who made a quick 85. He deservedly got the Man-of-the-Match award.
Sri Lanka go top of the table with their 3rd win in 6 matches. India remain in third on 10 points, five behind Sri Lanka; four behind Australia. India's chances take a big dent. They will now have to play out of their skin to reach the finals.
49th over: 278 for seven in pursuit of 281.

46th over: Now Maharoof out. Pulls Ben Hilfenhaus straight to Harris at deep midwicket.

45th over: Chandimal out. Plays across a straight ball from Ryan Harris. Plumb! Big breakthrough for Australia. Now they are favourites to take this tie.
Chandimal lbw b Harris 80 (100b)
42nd over: Sri Lanka 229/4 in pursuit of 281. Chandimal, who has scored his 6th ODI fifty, and Mathews are out there in the middle. This partnership is key for Sri Lanka. A wicket here can set them back big time.
37th over: Thirimanne out. Tries to play a cheeky stroke over short fine leg but finds Hilfenhaus. It was not needed. Australia back! Sri Lanka 202 for four.
Thirimanne c Hilfenhaus b Christian 24 (34)
34th over: Sri Lanka 185 for three. It's advantage Sri Lanka right now. Both Thirimanne and Chandimal are batting sensibly.
27th over: Mahela Jayawardene out! Doherty beats him through the air and Wade does the stumping in a flash.
Jayawardene st †Wade b Doherty 85 (81)
22nd over: Sri Lanka 133 for two in pursuit of 281.
19th over: Sri Lanka 115 for 2. Chandimal is already into his stride. Things are looking goods for the Lankans at the moment. They just have to make sure they don't lose a wicket at this point.
14th over: Sangakkara out. Gets a leading edge off Daniel Christian and David Warner takes the catch at backward point. Big wicket for Australia against the run of play. Sri Lanka 91 for two.
Sangakkara c Warner b Christian 22 (22)
13th over Sri Lanka 85 for one.64th ODI fifty for Jayawardene.
8th over: Ben Hilfenhaus removes a sedate Tillakaratne Dilshan for 3. Dilshan goes for the pull but picks out the man down at deep square leg. Sri Lanka are 55 for 1 after eight overs, with Mahela Jayawardene looking good on 44 off 39 balls.
Dilshan c Forrest b Hilfenhaus 3 (9)
4th over: Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan begin Sri Lanka's chase with a mix of circumspect and cheeky shots. 23 for no loss, but the Lankans have a long way to go. Can Brett Lee and Ben Hilfenhaus find an early breakthrough for Australia?
50th over: Australia close on 280/6. Good bowling from the Lankans in the last five overs, otherwise the score could have been even bigger.
46th over: Christian out. Sangakkara does a good job behind the stumps. Christian leaves his crease for a big swipe but he gets it all wrong. Australia 250 for six.
Christian st †Sangakkara b Herath 6
45th over: Michael Hussey out! Malinga's yorker does the job.
Michael Hussey b Malinga 21 (14)
41st over: Forrest out. Maharoof takes a simple catch in the deep cover area as Forrest tries to hit it over him. The idea was right since there was just one fielder in that area but the execution was poor. Anyway, it's a great innings by him. In such a short time he has shown what he is capable of. He certainly looks the future. Australia 205 for four.
Forrest c Maharoof b Mathews 104 (138b)
40th over Peter Forrest reaches his maiden ton.

33rd over: Australia 148 for two. Two boundaries for Forrest off Malinga's over.
32nd over The batting powerplay has been taken. This is a crucial stage. Sri Lanka desperately need a couple of wickets.
30th over: Australia 128 for two. 1000 runs for Michael Clarke against Sri Lanka. Also, the 100-run partnership is up between Clarke and Forrest. Now the batsmen are playing more freely and that's not a good sign for Sri Lanka.
26th over: Australia 105 for two. Six runs off the Herath over.
Meanwhile, Peter Forrest reaches his third fifty. Mind you, it's his just fourth game.
20th over: Australia 81 for two. The fifty-run partnership is up between Forrest and Clarke. Good going!
17th over: Australia 68 for two. Both Forrest and Clarke are playing the ball on its merit. Defensive approach as of now for the Aussies but somebody has to let loose.
