    MS Dhoni offers to give up Chennai Super Kings' captaincy: reports

    After his name got dragged into the fixing and betting scandal, MS Dhoni has reportedly offered to quit as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper. Presently, he is leading India at the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.

    It has been learnt that Dhoni had a phone conversation with now suspended BCCI chief N Srinivasan and conveyed how 'disappointed and annoyed', he is feeling with the recent developments.

    According to a media report, Dhoni has also requested Srinivasan to accept his resignation from India Cements as its vice president, the company owned by Srinivasan. However, nothing is clinching as of now and both parties are still in discussion.

    Harish Salve, the counsel of Bihar Cricket Association chief Aditya Verma on Thursday had accused Dhoni of giving false statements before the Mudgal Commitee about the role of Gurunath Meiyappan at the CSK.

    Dhoni has captained CSK in the last six editions of IPL, leading the team to the title twice. He has also led the team in Champions Trophy.
