Islamabad: Uncapped fast bowler Usman Khan Shinwari has been summoned by Pakistan for the two-match Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka in Dubai.
The 19-year-old paceman from the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa impressed selectors in the recent domestic T20 tournament final in which he took 5 for 9 while representing Zarai Taraqiati (Agriculture Development) Bank against Sui Northern Gas.
The Pakistan Cricket Board says in a statement on Tuesday that Shinwari will join the team early Wednesday, possibly in time for the opening match late that night.
Shinwari was praised by Pakistan one-day captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who was bowled by the left-armer off the second ball during the T20 final at Lahore on Dec. 3.
