The decision was taken at the EGM on Tuesday. The fresh elections for the post are also likely to be held soon.
Jaipur: The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) on Tuesday removed Secretary and IAS officer Sanjay Dixit from his post and announced that fresh elections for the post would be held soon.
The senior IAS officer was always in thick of controversy and was suspended in July last year from his post with KK Sharma taking over as working secretary.
A couple of days back Dixit had again drawn attention by resolving his differences with former RCA president and IPL commissioner Lalit Modi.
It is understood that the proximity of Modi and Dixit resulted in withdrawal of support from RCA President CP Joshi by a few of IAS Officer's supporter districts.
Reacting quickly and thwarting the designs of Dixit-Modi combine, Joshi faction in a show of strength had called an emergency general body meeting on Tuesday.
The Deputy President of RCA, who presided over the meeting, told that 23 district units had called for an EGM and 21 were present.
"There was single point agenda in meeting and that was to take action against suspended secretary Sanjay Dixit who was not replying to letters by the disciplinary committee. In wake of his recent outbursts against RCA and his tweets it was decided to remove him from the post. The executive has been authorized to announce the date for the fresh election for the secretary's post," he said.
