Indore: Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia was elected as the president of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) on Sunday. The results of the election, which was held amid tight security, was announced late on Sunday night.
Scindia polled 150 against his rival and Madhya Pradesh Industries Minister Kailash Vijaywargia, who secured 73 votes. The elections for the state cricket body are held every two years. Scindia has defeated Vijayvargiya in the MPCA polls for the second time in a row. During the last polls, Vijayvargiya had lost to Scindia by over 70 votes.
