Thilina Kandamby, Suranga Lakmal and Kaushal Silva were called up by Sri Lanka for the first Test against West Indies.
Colombo: Batsman Thilina Kandamby, fast bowler Suranga Lakmal and wicketkeeper Kaushal Silva were called up into their first Sri Lanka Test squad for the first match against West Indies starting on Monday.
The trio was the only new caps in the 16-man squad announced on Wednesday. Kandamby and Lakmal have played for Sri Lanka in one-dayers while Silva was yet to make his international debut.
Kandamby and Silva were in the Sri Lanka President's XI playing West Indies in a three-day warmup game in Colombo, and both were at the crease at stumps on the first day Wednesday. Silva was 13 not out, and left-hander Kandamby was yet to get off the mark.
Left-arm seamer Thilan Thushara, also in the squad, took 2-38 off 11 overs against West Indies. Thushara may play his first Test in more than a year with the exclusion of Lasith Malinga and Chanaka Welegedara.

There are four seamers, six specialist batsmen and allrounder Anjelo Mathews.
