    Unheralded Guyana : The gamechangers

Guyana Spinners Davendra Bishoo, Lenox Cush and Royston Crandon could well be the men to make a mark at this year\'s CL T20 tournament.

New Delhi: Come September, Guyana captain Ramnaresh Sarwan will want to lead by example both as player and captain during the 2010 Champions League T20 competition in South Africa.

A highest score of 291 in Tests and a strike rate of 104.19 in T20 internationals reflects his ability to adapt to a given situation.

He has had his moments on the field, cricket and otherwise. Who can forget his memorable tiff with Glenn McGrath during the Antigua Test of the 2003 series.

Not many have managed to get under the skin of the former Australian fast bowler. Sarwan gave McGrath, notorious for sledging a taste of his own medicine and that too with interest.

He also won an ODI for the Windies against the Indians of the very last ball of the match when he struck Ajit Agarkar for a boundary in the 2002-03 series in India.

Apart from Sarwan, players who have represented the West Indies at the international level, middle order batsman Narsingh Deonarine and opener Travis Dowlin will be invaluable to their side because of the experience factor.

In fact Dowlin played a crucial knock of 59 in the semi finals against Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) which was largely responsible for Guyana's setting T&T a target of 176.

Hard hitting batsman Jonathan Foo who had a fairly successful Caribbean T20 tournament will be one to keep an eye out for.

His whirlwind innings of 42 from 17 balls in the final snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for Guyana.

Lastly, The Guyanese spinners are probably the dark horses and could really help their team's cause.

Leg spinner Davendra Bishoo who was voted as the most valuable player of the entire competition, along with off spinners Lenox Cush and Royston Crandon could well be the men to make a mark at this year's CL T20 tournament.
