New Delhi: The police are questioning two “close relatives” of Noida girl Aarushi Talwar, who was on Friday found murdered in her home.

The murder took a sensational turn when Hemraj, the domestic help at the Talwar household, was found murdered on the terrace of the house though the police had declared him to be their prime suspect.

The Noida police on Sunday said autopsy reports indicate Aarushi and Hemraj were murdered with the same weapon and at around the same time.

Aarushi, 15, was found murdered in her bedroom at her L-32 Jalvayu Vihar home in Sector-25 in Noida. Hemraj, 45, was suspected to have fled to his home in Nepal after murdering her.

The Noida police were red-faced and on Sunday gave details of the investigation after the initial botch-up. Officials said the autopsy hadn’t found alcohol in Hemraj’s body and the staff of Aarushi’s father, dentist Dr Rajesh Talwar, had been questioned.

An IANS report says a sharp-edged surgical instrument was used to murder Aarushi and Hemraj.

The Superintendent of Police of Noida (City) and the police officer in charge of the local police station have been transferred for failing to investigate the crime scene properly. The murder probe has been transferred to the state Special Task Force.

Aarushi, the only daughter of a dentist couple, had eaten dinner with her family on Thursday night and then retired to her room in the three-bedroom apartment.

The next day she was found with her throat slit and injuries on her head. Hemraj was denounced as the killer almost immediately and the police even offered a reward of Rs 20,000 for information leading to his arrest.
