New Delhi: Though Europe missed out watching David Beckham the footballer in action at Euro 2008, America went one better.

The US was privy to the international sex symbol stripping to his bare essentials in an underwear ad campaign for Armani. And the cheers and squeals that followed said it all.

"I think wearing boxers and briefs always depends on the occasion," was what the soccer superstar had to say.

Though he has had the experience of facing a camera before, this ad shoot reportedly got Beckham a wee bit nervous. Afterall, San Francisco would be seeing one of its most celebrated residents on the the billboards in nearly bare-it-all mode.

"I've done quite a few photo shoots before but I've never done any in my underwear so I was slightly...nervous,"he admitted.

And knowing that he was scolded by his mom the last time he shot underwear ads, Beckham has got his defences in place this time.

"I think it was more sport orientated," says Beckham.

Even as he'll be raking in more bucks now, wife Posh will sure keep a close eye on her superstar hubby. Afterall, he's been caught with his pants down in public before.
