New Delhi: A statue of B R Ambedkar was damaged in Gunarsa village in Saharanpur district on Monday by some unidentified persons.
Police said a case has been registered following the incident, which led to some tension in the village on Tuesday.
They added that security has been tightened in the area following the incident.
This is not the first incident of its kind as a statue of Ambedkar was desecrated at Pataudi village in Gurgaon in January and last year in Kanpur leading to widespread protests all over the country.
