Washington: Seven years have passed since America witnessed one of the deadliest terror attacks when the al-Qaeda brought down the World Trade Center's twin towers on September 11, 2001.
It was one of the most horrifying and barbaric act of terror in the history of mankind which ruined and destroyed America.
A series of coordinated suicide attacks blasts by the terrorists rocked the city of Manhattan.
Terrorists attacked the country with a barbarity unequaled in history which crippled life and killed thousands in the country.
The attacks created widespread confusion among news organisations and air traffic controllers across the United States too.
Presidential candidates, Barack Obama and John McCain will visit Lower Manhattan to commemorate the anniversary of the event.
A ceremony in honour of those killed will also be held at ground zero.
The 9/11 attacks were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by the al-Qaeda on September 11, 2001.
Terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners and intentionally crashed two of them into the Twin Towers.
The third plane was crashed into the Pentagon and the fourth into a field near Shankville.
