New Delhi: World Champion Viswanathan Anand came up with an impressive performance to hold Russian Grandmaster Vladimir Kramnik to a draw in the opening round of the World Chess Championship at Bonn in Germany on Tuesday.

The Championship will be played over 12 classical games and in the event of a tie, rapid and blitz games will decide the winner.
It carries a total prize 1.5 million Euro which will be equally split between the players, regardless of the winner.
