New Delhi: Amidst worldwide celebration over Barak Obama's historic victory as the first Afro-American President of America, there is a sad news for yet another Indian family. Till now six techies from Andhra Pradesh have already died under mysterious circumstances in the US.
This time it is the tragic story of Arpana Jinaga, a 24-year-old software professional from Hyderabad, was working in the US. Her body was found, a few hours before millions of Americans queued up to vote and change the destiny of their country.
Arpana, a wiz kid was working as a software quality engineer at EMC Corporation in Seattle. The Redmond Police in the US termed it as a highly suspicious death and started a full investigation. Her Hyderabad based father Dr Basavaraj C Jinaga is under shock after listening to the news.
“Last night we came to know about the incident. We don’t know the motive and we have any information about what had happened and they have given no information to us,” says Arpana’s father Dr Basavaraj C Jinaga.
Arpana's mother is a relative of Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and they are originally from Karnataka. Her family is now leaving for the US to bring her body back to India.
What is more alarming is the unending spate of the mysterious deaths of techies from Andhra Pradesh working in the US. Arpana is the sixth young techie from Andhra Pradesh to be killed on the American soil in the last two years.
Just two months back, T Soumya Reddy and her cousin Vikram Reddy were killed in the US. Not a single case has so far been cracked.
A Srinivas PG medical student was killed last year. Chandrasekhar Reddy Komma and Kiran Kumar Allam, both PhD students, were also killed last year.
Jayalakshmi, wife of a techie and her two children were found dead at their house near Detroit, last week. Her Nerusu Lakshminivasa Rao is misssing.
Over a lakh software and management professionals from Andhra Pradesh alone are working in the US. Increasing incidents of mysterious deaths have sent shock waves across Andhra Pradesh and Andhraites in the US.
