Aizawl: Mizo National Front (MNF) MP in the Lok Sabha Vanlalzawma would abstain in the trust vote in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday but attend the session.
The MP told PTI from New Delhi that he would be attending the proceedings of the Lok Sabha throughout the day but press the yellow button, to mark his absence from voting, during the trust vote as directed by MNF chief and Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga.
An MNF leader had on Monday said Congress was the main rival of the ruling party in Mizoram and it would not like to support the Congress-led UPA in the Parliament.
"If the Government is not going to fall, there is no point in voting against it as the Congress workers here would brand the MNF as pro-BJP and pro-Hindu in the coming assembly polls scheduled to be held by the end of this year," the leader, on the condition of anonymity, said.
