Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police registered two FIRs against the Army for allegedly desecrating the Holy Quran in a village mosque in Kupwara on Saturday.
They have also been charged with opening fire to disperse protestors, in which one person was killed, and thirteen injured.
Among those injured in the incident were three civilians, four security personnel, and six policemen.
The protestors had alleged that the army jawans entered the Zirhama mosque in the village Friday night, with their shoes on, misbehaved with the Imam and desecrated copies of the Holy Quran.
