Jammu: Three HUJI militants were killed in an encounter in Chingum area of Kishtwar district in Jammu early on Friday.
The encounter started at around night 1am on Friday and search operations continued till late morning.
Army sources say that the terrorists killed included HUJI area commander Al Mansoor and another local commander Abu Cheche code named Shamsher.
Army spokesman Lt. Col. S.G. Goswami said "We obtained information about the movement of a group of militants in the Churuwan forests and cordoned off the area to catch them.
"Contact was established with the militants early this morning. Three militants were killed after an hour long gunbattle. They were identified as activists of the Harkatul Jihad-e-Islami (HUJI)"
"The search operation is still going on as we suspect there are more militants," said Goswami.
