Poonch An army jawan has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl in Jammu and Kashmir.
Calls for justice in Surankot in Poonch, seeking punishment for Abdul Majid, an army jawan from the 156th battalion accused of raping a 13-year-old girl repeatedly for over two days.
“He raped me for more than two days,” says the victim.
Majid and another suspect have been arrested and a case has been filed against them.
Police say Akhtar, who's a resident of Dara Sangla, persuading the victim to accompany her to Surankot.
She was then locked up in a rented room, and raped. The army has promised severe action if Majid is found guilty.
Defence spokes person H D Goswami said, “Police is investigating the case, accused will be charged under law if he found guilty.”
Majid is the fourth army man accused of a sexual crime in Jammu and Kashmir in the last month.
