Gurez (Jammu and Kashmir): An Army jawan shot dead a superior officer in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning. The incident happened at a forward post in Gurez sector of Baramulla district.

Major P Alexander was shot dead by sepoy Mohan Munda, who was arrested and a Court of Inquiry has been ordered into the incident.

Of late, there has been an increase in fratricidal killings among security forces posted in border areas.

The Army has decided to start Yoga classes and get psychologists to help de-stress troops.

The Indian Army has handed out the death sentence to a soldier Sepoy Satyam Kumar in May 2007 for "fragging" or killing his superior in 2006. As many as 24 officers and soldiers were killed in 17 incidents of fragging last year.
