New Delhi: The judicial custody of key accused in the Noida double murder, DR Rajesh Talwar, has been extended.

Dr Talwar has been in custody for 39-days now and his lawyers want to know why there has been no progress.

His lawyers put their question to CBI and the court on Wednesday morning, demanding a status report on investigations so far.

However, the request was rejected as the court said it was looking at the case diary on regular basis and was aware of the investigations and letting the defence know the details could hamper investigations at this stage.

Nevertheless, they were provided with a copy of the FIR and the post mortem reports so that they can appeal for bail in the Allahabad High Court.

Rajesh’s lawyer feels that only an appeal to a High Court may push CBI to make it clear as to what is it that Dr Talwar is accused of - killing Arushi and Hemraj, plotting to kill them or destroying evidence.

Meanwhile, on July 11, Dr Talwar’s judicial custody would end together with that of Krishna and Rajkumar and it is anticipated that it is only then that the CBI may reveal who killed Arushi and Hemraj.
