New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is questioning two new persons in the murders of Noida girl Arushi Talwar and domestic help Hemraj but it’s a mystery whether they are being treated as suspects or witnesses.

Dr Rajesh Talwar, Arushi’s father, is the only person to be accused of the murders and he is under arrest. The CBI has detained the compounder of Dr Talwar but it’s not clear whether he is a suspect or a witness in its probe.

Krishna, who hails from Nepal, was a friend of Hemraj and has been working at Dr Talwar’s Noida clinic for the last three years. The CBI subjected him to lie detector tests and now has taken him to Bangalore for narco-analysis.

"Krishna has been examined to verify his statements given before Noida police. To verify contradictions appearing in his statement, he was subjected to polygraph (lie) detector test on June 9 and 10", said CBI Joint Director Arun Kumar on Wednesday.

The other man suddenly in the picture is Raju, Hemraj's cousin who worked at the Talwars when Hemraj went to Nepal on vacation.

Strangely, Hemraj had told the Talwars that Raju died in a road accident in April in Delhi. Raju is fit and well and the CBI is questioning him because he is suspected to be in touch with Krishna after the twin murders.

In the intense media focus on these new names in the probe, the first suspect has disappeared. Vishnu Thapa, a former domestic servant of the Talwars for eight years, recommended Hemraj to the family for employment.

The UP Police suspected Thapa after the murders but lost interest in him later. Thapa is now back home in Nepal and he is nowhere on the CBI’s radar.
