New Delhi: The father of Arushi Talwar, the girl who was murdered in her home four months ago, feels “helpless” because the case against her alleged killers seems to be falling apart.
“This is not something that we can do anything about. We are doing the best. The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) is doing its best. I feel helpless—it’s not good for us, rather not good for anybody,” Dr Rajesh Talwar told CNN-IBN on Thursday.
Speaking about his daughter, he said: “she loved to dance, very lively, very ambitious. She wanted to become a doctor, and recently she had shown interest in pursuing economics and I had fixed up with her to speak to people who could do economics.”
Almost four months after Aarushi was found murdered in her Noida home on May 16, the CBI has said it would not file a charge-sheet in the case anytime soon and would not oppose bail for the three accused.
Vijay Mandal, who worked as a domestic help near the Talwar family’s home, was granted bail by a CBI court in Ghaziabad last week.
Krishna and Rajkumar, the two other suspects, may soon be out on bail because the CBI has not yet filed a charge-sheet against them within the stipulated 90-day period.
Krishna’s lawyers on Thursday withdrew their bail application and will apply afresh on Friday.
