London: If superstar Shah Rukh Khan was in London to unveil his wax statue, actress Aishwarya Rai also checked into the city to unveil her latest film Provoked.
The film is inspired by the true story of Kiranjit Ahluwalia, a victim of domestic violence who killed her own husband and was charged for murder.
For Ash the actress, stepping into the character of an emotionally and physically battered wife was a humbling experience.
“I think I believed so much in the script that it didn't take time to slip in to the character and to really feel the core and communicate what needed to be conveyed in every cinematic moment,” she said.
And predictably, the actress tried to dodge questions about her much publicised April wedding with actor Abhishek Bachchan.
“You guys are the ones with the half-an-hour specials with a lot of fiction thrown in there. I don’t think I need to give you guys anything, you have the entertainment sections going with a lot of imagination and amazing scripts. But I would like say thanks to the viewers for their support, love and blessings. My entire family and I truly treasure it,” she said.
Thank you, Ash, but before comes the acid test at the box office as Provoked hits theatres in India and abroad on April 9.
