Mumbai: Singer Asha Bhonsle is angry these days. When music composer-turned-singer-turned-actor Himesh Reshammiya said RD Burman's voice was nasal, she flew into a rage and said that Reshammiya “deserved a tight slap.”
But people thought it was all over when she sang for Reshammiya’s film Aap Ka Suroor. But Asha clearly isn't too happy.
“I sang something and it turned out to be something else completely. These days you can play around so much because it’s all digital. When the album released then I got to know how they changed the whole song,” she says.
That’s why she is now focusing more on non-film albums and live performances. Soon to perform in Nasik after 15 years, Asha says its very difficult to trust music composers and filmmakers these days.
“I sang one song for RGV. Later on I realised that they used only my aalap. These days you can't trust anyone. I think I should ask everyone to give me in writing how they're going to use my voice,” she says.
She may also go the legal contract way soon. Next up is an album with Ghulam Ali's son Aamir and duets with three new friends for her album Asha and Friends.
