Review: Jhoom Barabar Jhoom

Jhoom Barabar... has a superhit soundtrack, it's sensationally choreographed but it's still a film with a plot that doesn't work.

New Delhi: It was billed as the wedding of the year - a beauty queen marrying the son of Bollywood's biggest superstar. Nine months later, the 'shaadi No. 1' is back in the news, this time for the wrong reasons.

CNN-IBN has exclusive details of the notice Income Tax authorities served to the Bachchans asking for details of how they spent money on their son's wedding.

From the beauty parlour to the beautician, fashion designer, mandap keeper to even a detailed list of all those who gave the newly weds gifts.

The Bachchans, in their response, said they spent close to Rs 2 crore on creative services - Rs 95 lakh on event management and Rs 83 lakh on catering services.

But this is not the first time that the Bachchan family has been involved in a face-off with the taxman.

Last year, Abhishek, Jaya and the Big B were served notices to furnish details of all their tax returns, something that Bachchan insists they do regularly. From Big B’s sun glasses to Junior B’s prized Bentley, the family says the I-T department has always been quick to get them.

But the ruling Congress has dismissed the allegations. The twists and turns in Amitabh Bachchan's life are increasingly looking like plot of Bollywood potboiler.

From being a fake farmer to charges of cheating I-T sleuths, life for Bollywood's shehenshah is not going to be the same again.
