Jaipur: The Bangladeshi migrants in Jaipur have come under the scanner after Tuesday's serial bomb blasts in Jaipur which killed 63 and injured 214.

Investigating agencies have detained 40 Bangladeshis for questioning.

State Public Works Department Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore said the state government has asked local authorities to verify all Bangladeshis living in and around the city within 30 days.

“District collectors and police have been directed to identify all Bangladeshi migrants living in the state. Their verification will be carried whether they are with or without voter identity cards or ration cards," Rathore said.

Addressing a press conference in Jaipur on Friday, Rathore also said more sketches of suspects would be released soon.

However, with no clear breakthrough in the case, the blame game continues.

"There was no specific indication from the Centre about any possible attack in Jaipur. The Centre should refrain from politicising terror activities," Rathore said.

"Bangladeshi immigrants is not a state problem only but it's a national one and the Centre should take concrete steps against illegal immigration," he added.

"We are waiting for the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) report but the preliminary investigations suggest RDX was used in the bombs," he said.

He also almost contradicted the Chief Minister on the e-mail purportedly sent by an outfit that called itself Indian Mujahideen, which claimed responsibility for the blasts.

While Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia had said that the e-mail did not seem genuine and was probably sent to mislead the investigating agencies, Rathore claimed, "investigators are looking at the hard disc of the computer from which the e-mail was sent".

"We can't rule out the possibility of the e-mail being genuine," he added.

He also revealed that a visiting card was found inside a Maruti Esteem car that was seized from Jaipur Railway Station. The car was reportedly lying unclaimed since May 4.

"The person Afzal whose visiting card was found in an abandoned car says he had to leave the car to rush to Chennai to attend to his mother due to a medical emergency. We are still investigating into the manner in which he had to leave," he said.
