Mumbai: He gave us Maine Pyaar Kiya and Hum Apke Hain Kaun and now director Sooraj Barjatya is back with Vivah starring Shahid Kapur and Amrita Rao.

"Eighty per cent of our country still gets into arranged marriages but we have never had a film about arranged marriages," actor Shahid Kapur said.

Obliterating the memory of his last film, the box office disaster Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, Barjatya has his hopes pinned on Vivah, which is the 51st picture from the Rajshri banner.

Like the name suggests, Barjatya's latest is about a young couple's journey from engagement to marriage.

"For me, the family platform is something I have believed in. The film talks of all the possible goodness between a man and a woman," Barjatya said.

Though the song-and-dance routine may have changed, what hasn't changed is Barjatya's fixation for screen name Prem.

So, after Salman and Hrithik in previous Rajshri films, it's now Shahid's turn to slip into the shoes of the director's prototype of the good-as-gold, soft-spoken boy in the throes of young love.

Described as a return to the filmmaker's roots, Vivah will discuss the sanctity of arranged marriage and those involved promise that the film is in many ways reminiscent of those good old-fashioned simple romances that Bollywood was once famous for.

"Soorajji is a king when it comes to showing the subtle nuances of romance and that is the highlight of this film," actor, Amrita Rao said.

Looks like the mood for Valentine's Day may well be set from next week itself.
