New Delhi: Art student Chandramohan at Baroda’s Maharaja Sayajirao University has finally got bail after being in jail for six days.
A fine arts student at the university, Chandramohan was arrested last Wednesday for putting up allegedly obscene works at a private exhibition in the campus.
The arrest came after BJP and VHP activists barged into the private exhibition of the Fine Arts faculty to protest Chandramohan's paintings.
Under pressure from right-wing groups, MS University has suspended the Faculty Dean Shivaji Panikkar. But artists and students are rallying around Chandramohan.
Meanwhile, ABVP activists took out a parallel protest at the MS University at Chandramohan’s release.
